Framingham, MA does not have a lot of exclusively vegetarian and vegan restaurants, but this pick is the best choice as you won’t find any dairy or meat byproducts.

The internationally inspired menu includes plenty of cuisines such as Indian, Mediterranean, Italian, Mexican and even American comfort foods. You’ll find three different menus at this restaurant, including a lunch, brunch and dinner option.

One of the popular dishes that can be found on all three menus is the Gobi Manchurian which is prepared with chickpea flour battered cauliflower, in a spicy and sweet tomato sauce with sautéed peppers and onions.

We also recommend their Black Bean & Sweet Potato Enchiladas which consist of black beans, sweet potatoes, zucchini and topped with enchilada sauce and a delicious drizzle of maple-balsamic glaze. Another favorite among regulars is the super filling Veggie Burrito which is prepared with organic brown rice, refried black beans, salsa, vegan sour cream, guacamole, and pepper jack cheese.

Nzuko Restaurant is a laidback restaurant with an internationally inspired menu, including a large variety of vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, as well as organic options. You’ll find many items on the menu that are inspired by Middle-Eastern, Caribbean, and Mediterranean cuisine.

You’ll find a light and airy cafe-like interior with light-colored tables and floors, black chairs and hanging art on the wall. The quick service and helpful staff never fail to make your dining experience here that much nicer.

From appetizers, soups, guvec, pies, wraps, lunch combos and dinner combos, you’ll be spoiled for choice.

For those who have never tried a guvec, let us introduce you to a super flavorful stew that’s loaded with pleasant taste and aromas. If you’re vegan, simply inform the staff that you’d like yours without any tzatziki.

Walk into this super spacious restaurant and smell the aromas wafting from the kitchen. This eatery is definitely the place to be for rich, flavorful and diverse taste that Indian food has to offer.

You’ll get to choose from a wide variety ranging from soups, rice specialties, dosa specials, appetizers, entrees, biryanis and fried rice. Some of the vegetarian entrees well worth a try are the Idli Manchurian, Onion Pakoda, Paneer Masakkali and Veg Samosa.

As for vegetarian entrees, we recommend trying their Malai Kofta which consists of mixed vegetables balls cooked with cream and a delicious sauce. Another popular favorite is the Kadai Paneer which is a dish prepared with cheese cubes, sauteed onions, tomatoes in medium spicy sauce.

Of course this is a biryani house so we couldn’t go without recommending their Paneer Biryani, Veg Kheema Biryani and Paneer Tikka Biryani.

We feel like this list would be incomplete without some authentic Italian food featuring incredible brick oven pizzas and mouth-watering pastas. And that’s why we just had to mention Bertucci’s Italian Restaurant on our list of vegetarian and vegan restaurants in Framingham, MA.

The decor here is inviting with the warm lights, open and spacious dining area, but one of the favorite features at Bertucci’s is the large open kitchen where you can watch the chefs do what they do best. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful, so feel free to ask for any suggestions or if they can accommodate your dietary requirements.

You’ll find more vegetarian options, rather than vegan ones here since many dishes include cheese. We recommend starting with the moreish Garlic Knots which are topped with olive oil, fresh garlic, parsley and Pecorino Romano. Pair that with their delicious Tuscan Vegetables which are seasonal vegetables all roasted in their brick oven for the ultimate delectable starters.

As for mains, some might say that margherita pizzas are basic. But not here, as even the simplest dishes like the Classic Margherita are prepared with passion and the combination of their crust, well seasoned sauce and oozzy mozzarella, Pecorino Romano & fresh basil is a crowd-pleaser.

Another tasty choice is their Roasted Vegetable Calzone which consists of zucchini, caramelized onions, spinach, artichokes, ricotta and mozzarella. Feel free to get crafty whilst you’re at it with creating your masterpiece as they do a Craft Your Own pizza and calzone.
