Located just 5 minutes away from Downtown Park – which is a 21-acre oasis of lush green – Araya’s Place is a great stop for refueling during your adventures in the city. So if you’re on the search for exclusively vegan food, and even a vegan buffet, Araya’s Place will fit the bill.
Open since 1987, this restaurant has a charming interior and is bright and airy, with loads of beautiful plants hanging from the ceiling. It’s relaxed, warm and welcoming atmosphere makes this a perfect place to catch up with family and friends.
Here, you’ll find a large selection of tasty vegan Thai and Asian dishes, all prepared with ingredients from local farms. So expect freshness in each of the dishes, as you dig into a blend of sour, sweet, salt, and savory tastes, all tweaked to cater for vegans!

And for dessert, their ‘Oh! My Goodness Chocolate’ is the perfect indulgent treat which runs out pretty fast of course! It’s prepared with soy, cocoa powder, vegan chocolate, maple syrup, apple sauce, vanilla extract, vegan cream cheese and other delicious ingredients.

Although not exclusively vegan or vegetarian, Din Tai Fung offers an excellent choice of vegan, as well as vegetarian, Taiwanese dishes that will likely impress.
This restaurant has a beautifully decorated interior, including monochromatic picture frames, well-lit dining area, plenty of seats, as well as comfy booth seating. It’s a welcoming place, thanks in part to the friendly staff.
Din Tai Fung has got to be your spot if you’re looking for some vegan-friendly dumplings, noodles, or other savoury Taiwanese dishes. They have Shanghainese and Sichuan dishes here as well.
We highly recommend starting with their Vegan Dumplings and Vegan Buns as they’re all packed with rich flavors. You can also go for the super comforting Vegan Wonton Soup which is prepared with a mixture of bean curd, baby bok choy, shiitake mushrooms, wood ear mushrooms, glass noodles, and jicama served in a light, savory kombu broth.
But if you love something spicier and more filling, we think you’ll love their Vegan Noodles with Spicy Sauce. You won’t have to worry about the noodles containing any eggs as Din Tai Fung prepare their own house-made thin noodles with ‘JUST Egg’, which is a premium plant-based egg substitute made out of protein-rich mung beans.

This restaurant offers counter service – similar to Subway’s style – where you can choose your favorite toppings to go on your pizza. Not only that, you’ll have loads of options to choose from, starting from the crust, sauce, cheese, veggies and drizzles to finish your order.

Chaat House is a counter-service restaurant that serves excellent Indian food such as curries, flatbreads and street food. It’s also an exclusively vegetarian restaurant in Bellevue, so you’l find no meat here!
It’s a great quick bite or grab-and-go place to, as their small plates and snack-style vegetarian food are perfect to just eat and then get back on with your day.
They have bigger plates to of course, and not only do they serve street food classics like chaat, vada pav, bhajis and samosas, but they also have many choices of Indo-Chinese dishes, thalis and Paranthas!
Some of favorites include the Vada Pav, Aloo Tikki Chaat, Paneer Fried Rice and Chole Bhature. But if you fancy something more filling with loads of variety, then go for their Parantha Thali where you’ll get to try several Indian classics.
Although there are lots of seats indoors, this place can get a little crowded around 6 to 7 pm as it is a popular spot especially as the food is very affordably priced.

Although not solely vegan or vegetarian, Square Lotus has a very tempting vegetarian menu with a large array of Vietnamese dishes, ranging from appetizers, pho, salads, noodle dishes, rice dishes, soups, to even lunch specials.
Located close to great activities such as Edgebrook Sports Club and Bellevue Badminton Club, Square Lotus is the ideal place for re-energizing after some tiring activities! Located close to a few busy streets, this restaurant has a very lively atmosphere but is spacious with a vintage vibe.
Their vegetarian menu consists of a huge selection of delicious Vietnamese options and you might be overwhelmed with the choices at first. However you can always ask the friendly staff for some suggestions or even go for a few of our recomendations!
So what are those? Well we recommend their Green Papaya Salad consisting of shredded green papaya, fried tofu, veggie ham, carrots, daikon, basil and topped with ground peanuts and fried onions. Another delicious pick is their Special Vegetarian Fried Rice which is prepared with jasmine rice, veggie ‘chicken’, veggie ‘ham’, fried tofu, carrots, peas, white onions, bean sprouts and minced vegetables.
Square Lotus also does excellent Vegetarian Lunch Specials from Monday to Friday from 11:00am to 2:30pm. You can dig into tasty choices like their ‘Sweet & Spicy Chicken/Beef’ which is prepared with faux chicken/faux beef/fried tofu stir-fried with bell peppers, broccoli, and white onions, in a sweet and spicy sauce, topped with sesame seeds and crispy noodles.

If you’re a vegetarian and a cheese-lover, then we’re certain you’ll love Istanbul Cuisine for their quick grab-and-go delicious dishes oozing with cheese as well as their authentic taste of Mediterranean food.
This women-owned restaurant has been serving exceptional food for over 20 years and you better believe it when we say they’ve created the perfect fusion of flavors and seasonings.
Although not solely vegetarian, Istanbul Cuisine serves many vegetarian options and an added bonus is that all the vegetarian ingredients are organically sourced and the cheese used in each dish is kosher cheese.
This stall-style eatery has some seating options in the common space area in the Bellevue Square Mall, and their counter-service is quick and the food made-to-order. One of the favorites here is the Spinach Gozleme which is prepared with marinated spinach, red onion, mozzarella and sealed inside their tasty Turkish flatbread. Their Veggie Gozleme which consists of spinach, potato and mozzarella is also a must try.
Another popular dish among regulars is the Veggie Pide which is prepared with pita dough and filled with spinach, potato and mozzarella.

7. Monsoon Bellevue
For those who want to have a great sit down dinner in an elegant and charming setting, Monsoon Bellevue could be right up your street. Walk into this restaurant and smell the delicious food aroma wafting from the kitchen, and we’re sure you’re going to get even hungrier.
Their dark wood interior décor with wooden carvings on pillars, dim lighting, and great music selection in the background creates a very welcoming and pleasant atmosphere.
Although not solely vegetarian, Monsoon has a fantastic selection of vegetarian options and all of them are clearly labelled on their menu – that’s always appreciated.
We recommend you start with their Crispy Vegetarian Rolls consisting of taro, northwest tofu, carrot and woodear mushroom. Or try the Tofu Fresh Rolls which are prepared with tofu, roasted shiitake mushroom, beansprout, vermicellie noodle and peanut sauce.
If you’re there with family or friends and want something to share, then you can opt for their Green Platter which is packed with grilled shiitake mushrooms, okra, tipsy tofu, crispy vegetarian roll and nước chấm.
As for mains, one of the popular dishes is their Farmer Curry which consists of kabocha squash, taro, tofu and carrots. Their Vegetable Fried Rice is also a crowd-pleaser and is prepared with brown rice, vegetables, mushrooms and coconut oil.
Monsoon serves dishes that may vary according to the time you’re there. But whether you’re there for their weekday lunch, dinner or even the Dim Sum Brunch which is served on Saturday and Sunday from 11:30am to 3pm, we don’t think you’l be disappointed by their vegetarian options.

8. Mediterranean Kitchen
This down-to-earth restaurant is the place to go for some delicious Lebanese-Mediterranean cuisine. With the warm atmosphere, great selection of vegetarian dishes, as well as huge portions, it’s no surprise we just had to include Mediterranean Kitchen on our list of vegetarian and vegan restaurants in Bellevue.
Situated within just a short walk from Bellevue Downtown Park, this charming restaurant has a vintage vibe and feels quite ‘snug’. They prepare some excellent dishes, but as it’s a small place expect a queue outside in the evenings. With that the case we highly recommend making a reservation.
One of the dishes that stands out – and we think you should try – is the Ool Moudamas which is a mixture of cooked fava & garbanzo beans tossed in olive oil, lemon juice, parsley, cilantro & a mixture of delicious Mediterranean spices and served with pita. Another popular dish is the Veggie Lover which is prepared with sauteed broccoli, zucchini, onions, celery, tomatoes & carrots and served on a bed of rice.
Whichever dish you end up picking, make sure you don’t miss out on the classic Middle-Eastern Specialty; the falafal! Made with ingredients such as ground garbanzo beans, parsley, onions, garlic and spices, and served on a bed of lettuce with green onions, radish, cucumbers and tomatoes and topped with tahini sauce, this has to be the best falafal in the area!
