This award-winning spot has a casual indoor setting perfect for long conversations, but it also includes some outdoor seating where you can enjoy incredible vegan options while soaking up the rays.

Some of our all-time favorites include their Chick-un Waffles and Biscuits & Gravy, Cauliflower Wings, Raw Enchiladas, Thai Peanut Stir Fry and The Grickle Pizza. And the good thing is these dishes are packed with nutrient-dense ingredients and superfoods so you’re getting food that’s great to taste and good for your body too.

If you fancy something sweet, we highly recommend their Hummingbird Cake which consists of the perfect blend of banana, pineapple and chopped walnuts – a heavenly tropical treat!

They also have a great selection of beverages which compliment the dishes well. But regardless of what you choose to eat, you should still try out their Vanilla Chai and Golden Milk.

Situated in downtown Tacoma, Happy Belly Eatery & Juice Bar is a casual breakfast and lunch spot, perfect to grab a quick bite with friends.

This eatery won’t disappoint thanks to its menu filled with many vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and healthy choices. From All Day Breakfast items to wellness drinks, the globally influenced fare you can get here are full of fresh ingredients, including superfoods that are of exceptional quality.

If you’re a fan of bagels and croissants, then the loaded Veggie Croissant and Cha-Cha Bagel are a must. But this vegan-friendly and vegetarian restaurant in Tacoma has plenty of other great options too, and their Superfood Oatmeal and vegan Montego Burrito will likely have you coming back for more!

We love a natural energy drink and luckily Happy Belly has a large selection of healthy smoothies and wellness drinks that can provide that pick-me-up we all need during the day. What do we recommend? Well the burst of flavor from the Kale Berry Colada Smoothie and their Kombucha on Tap are always winners in our eyes.

If you still feel peckish after enjoying all of that, then why not try their vegan and gluten-free Triple Chocolate Donuts for dessert? We’ll admit that the glaze and crunch you get from the chocolate chunks are our favorite thing about digging into these!

The milkshakes and desserts are well worth trying as well, and are guaranteed to give you the ultimate vegan sweet fix. For more of a sugar-craving then we recommend their warm Apple Pie or Assorted Cookies, and if you’re feeling more adventurous, their Pineapple Coconut Bread Pudding served with a scoop of soy ice cream is out of this world!

This unassuming restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere serves a café menu inspired by the season’s freshest ingredients. Why is the menu seasonal? Well they use locally sourced produce!

Although not solely a vegetarian restaurant, TibbittsFernHill could be your best bet if you’re on the lookout for a lunch or brunch spot serving great meatless options, as well as non-vegetarian choices for non-vegetarian friends.

They do a fantastic breakfast at the weekends too, so if you want a filling breakfast before you explore the city this is a must when in Tacoma. With huge portions and affordable prices, this vegetarian-friendly restaurant in Tacoma will leave you with cash to spare but little in the way of spare stomach real estate.

What do we think you should try? Well we highly recommend their Breakfast Rolls or their French Toasts which are popular with regulars.

6. Over The Moon Café

Over The Moon Café is an excellent romantic dinner spot offering an intimate and cozy setting with brick walls, hanging lanterns and bold tones. This quaint family-run restaurant has excellent service and the vegetarian appetizers, entrees and desserts never fall short of expectations.

This restaurant can meet many dietary requirements from vegetarian options to non-vegetarian choices. And they manage all of that without compromising on taste.

As for the food, we recommend their Croutes de Fromage, Cheesy Roasted Brussel Sprouts, Beet Salad served with Arugula and Chèvre or their Vegetarian Lasagne.

If like us you have a sweet tooth, then their Turtle Pie is a great pick too. But, if you’re looking for a dessert that is paleo, keto-friendly and allergy safe, the Vegan Coconut Berry Cheesecake covers all of that, and is tasty to boot!

This fine dining vegetarian-friendly restaurant in Tacoma serves exquisite American cuisine. You’ll get ultimate comfort food dishes, but plated up in a way that you’ll feel the need to get your phone out to get those all-important Instagram pics.

This farm-to-table modern restaurant in Tacoma serves locally sourced dishes, so expect seasonal dishes depending on what’s available at the time. The result? A food experience which involves super fresh food and a menu that evolves as the year goes on.

Some of the dishes that stood out for us were their Vegetarian Risotto and the filling Gnocchi Mac & Cheese. Like all good fine-dining spots, The Table have curated an exceptional wine list to compliment their dishes. It can be a little daunting at first seeing all the bottles on offer, so just ask a staff member for some guidance if you want.

And if you’re not in the mood for a very formal meal, but still want to try this place out, then why not grab a seat at the bar, order from their extensive wine list and enjoy their range of creative small plates.

8. Indo Asian Street Eatery

In our opinion, Indo Asian Street Eatery restaurant not only serves some of the best vegan and vegetarian classic Southeast Asian cuisine in Tacoma, but also in Washington state.

The vibrant and rustic-chic setting here make this restaurant a great lunch and dinner spot to enjoy amazing Asian food and cocktails among friends.

We would highly recommend their Garlic Chive Buns and Edamame & Kale Dumplings as starters – both burst with freshness and flavor.

Their Lettuce Wrap with Curry Tofu, Mao Po Tofu and traditional Pad Thai are two mains well worth thinking about, but the reality is this restaurant has an impressive selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes to consider.

This place also has a very good cocktail selection as well as beer on tap, so it’s easy to stay here long after your plates have been cleared. And with the friendly and helpful staff you’ll feel more than welcome to stay until closing time too.

Unfortunately that closing time is quite early, as Indo Asian is open on Wednesday and Thursday from 11am to 8pm, Friday from 11am to 8:30pm, Saturday from 12pm to 8:30pm, Sunday from 12pm to 8pm but closed on Monday and Tuesday.
