If you’re on the search for a purely vegan restaurant serving excellent food, then Loving Hut will be the perfect pick. This 100% cruelty-free plant-based restaurant has an extensive menu offering many Asian-inspired dishes, as well as comfort food to please all palates.

The venue’s minimal decor might not stand out at first, but who’s here for the decor anyway right? Many visitors wonder if this counter-serve restaurant is even open or not due to the dim lighting, but just look out for the small “open” sign flashing in the window. It’s well worth finding though because the food won’t disappoint thanks to the freshness, taste and flavor of each dish.

Talking about the food, you’ll find a large variety to choose from and although all the wraps, burgers and pizzas are tasty, you’ll definitely find many choices that keep regulars coming back for more.

And one of those stand out dishes is their Gigantic Wrap which is packed with seasoned bean curd, vegan cheese, rice, lettuce, tomatoes and many other delicious ingredients that will keep you fueled for your Arlington adventures.

Another great choice is the Versatile Veggie Pizza which comes with a red sauce base, five veggie toppings of your choice and Daiya cheese. And for the chili fans, get your hands on the Cheerful Chili which is prepared with organic red kidney beans, organic black beans, organic pinto beans, tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, ground seitan, spices and served with organic tortilla chips.

As for raw vegans, worry not as you can go for the Righteous Raw Pasta consisting of zucchini noodles, raw tomato sauce prepared with tomatoes, cashew nuts, garlic, onions, bell peppers. and sun-dried tomatoes.

2. Mellow Mushroom Arlington

Upbeat and art-filled pizzeria offering some tempting vegan fare in a fun atmosphere with funky decor.

Lively and fun are what best defines Mellow Mushroom Arlington as this restaurant has some really hip and funky decor, perfect for snapping a few pictures.

Conveniently located right next to Arlington Music Hall, this pizzeria is ideal for grabbing a bite for those who don’t want to have a growling stomach during the show. The interior is super spacious too with plenty of seats, and even booths. You’ll also find a bar area with fluorescent blue lights and many TVs, making this spot perfect for watching sports as well.

Although not solely vegan, Mellow Mushroom has a nice selection of plant-based dishes ranging from starters to salads and even a very good vegan pie. Although the choices are limited to about 5 items, we’re sure that you’ll find something that you will like.

We recommend you start with the Vegan Tempeh Hoagie which is prepared with tempeh marinated in balsamic vinegar and served with lettuce, tomatoes, melted vegan cheese, grilled onions, mushrooms and green peppers.

As for mains, the Vegan Veg Out is the pie we mentioned earlier, and that consists of red sauce layered, vegan cheese, spinach, green peppers, sliced mushrooms, sweet onions, black olives and tomatoes.

But for something lighter, then we recommend the Vegan Enlightened Spinach Salad prepared with spinach, dried cherries, diced apples, and their house-made glazed pecans.

This vegan-friendly restaurant in Arlington is open Monday to Thursday, as well as Sunday, from 11am to 8pm; and on Friday and Saturday from 11am to 9pm.

3. Cherkose Ethiopian Cuisine

Experience some authentic Ethiopian cuisine in this laid-back restaurant.

This down-to-earth eatery serves some of the best Ethiopian cuisine in the area and they even cater to the vegan community!

The decor is humble, yet the yellow and red colors, and pictures adorning the walls, almost makes you feel for a second as though you’ve stepped through a door into an unassuming restaurant in Addis Ababa.

The atmosphere here is very warm and inviting and the knowledgeable staff are always happy to assist with any questions. Although not solely vegan, this restaurant is acclaimed as one of the best in Arlington and vegans are well catered for.

However, you won’t find many individual dishes on the menu to choose from, but the Vegan Combo on offer includes delicacies such as a nice selection of small tasting dishes.

You’ll get to choose a ‘style’ ranging from yellow split peas, shiro (which is a traditional sauce), spicy red lentils, brown lentils or collard greens tekel gomen cabbage. This Vegan Combo is also served with some Injera which is authentic Ethiopian flatbread. It’s super tasty, so go experience this amazing cuisine right in the heart of Arlington!
