Located just a short walk from Edinburgh Napier University and The Meadows Park, Seeds For The Soul is the ideal place for refueling during your city adventures.

This purely plant-based restaurant has a sleek contemporary feel thanks to the black decor, hanging wall arts and beautiful fairy lights. You can also bring your four legged friend to this pet-friendly restaurant and enjoy your food and drinks on their charming outdoor patio.

And when it comes to the food, expect incredibly tasty dishes, all prepared with passion and attention to details and display.

Seeds For The Soul has a tempting selection of health-conscious vegan dishes, ranging from all day breakfast, classic dishes, as well as a separate seasonal menu featuring some of the freshest produce available.

For breakfast, one of the most loved dishes by locals and visitors alike has got to be the Full Vegan which comprises of cumberland-style sausages, seitan bacon, tofu scramble, sautéed mushrooms, tattie scone, baked beans, grilled tomato, spinach and toast.

If you have a sweet tooth, we recommend going for the Sweet Pancakes which are homemade fluffy pancakes served with rhubarb and strawberry compote and topped with dairyfree custard and fresh strawberries – a winner in our eyes!

You’ll also fine an array of healthy bowls and comfort foods on the classics menu which is served from noon to close. One of the must-try dishes is the Satay Bowl which is prepared with pan-fried tofu strips tossed in peanut satay sauce served on courgette noodles, red cabbage, spinach, carrot, rocket, avocado, with spring onion, crushed peanut and chilli flakes.

And for a comfort food option, one of the popular burgers is the Beyond BBQ which consists of Violife cheese, homemade seitan bacon, battered onion rings, lettuce, jalapeños, BBQ sauce and garlic mayo.

This restaurant doesn’t serve alcoholic drinks, but if you wish o bring your own bottle, you’re most welcome to. They do charge a corkage fee to help them cover glassware, service and disposal.

They use some of the best vegan ingredients available, including many locals products that make this spot stand out in the area. Their menu is not only comprised of tasty pizzas, but also a wide range of starters, pastas and desserts.

For starters, we think you’ll love their Frisella Aglio E Peperoni Arrosto which is their typical Neapolitan crispy bread topped with garlic and roasted peppers. Another delicious starter is the Garlic Focaccia which is topped with garlic and mozzarella.

If you prefer pasta over pizza, then the choice the most raved about has got to be their Spaghettone Alla Carbonara which is prepared with their carbonara sauce, made with cream, homemade bacon, egg and black pepper.

As for pizza options, you’ll be spoiled for choice and one of the highly recommended ones is the Meat Feast. This delicious pizza is topped with tomato sauce, onions, black olives, homemade bacon, ham, chicken, pepperoni and mozzarella.

Novapizza is open Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday from 5pm to 9:30pm and on Saturday from 12pm to 9:30pm, but is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.

This eatery which is open as late as 1am is the most fun and upbeat vegetarian restaurant and cocktail bar on our list thanks to the exciting entertainment, funky decor and tasty comfort foods on offer.

One of the mouthwatering vegetarian burgers here has got to be their BBQ Brisket Bun which consists of maple glazed BBQ brisket served with dijonaise, pickled cabbage, melted cheese, shredded iceberg and topped with Russian dressing and mustard.

Pair that with their Philly Cheesesteak Fries which is topped with BBQ brisket meat, chipotle cheese sauce all topped off with melted cheese, house pickles, jalapenos and Russian dressing.
